Carte Blanche is a collective show curated by Valentin van der Meulen with the works of Pascal Dombis, Françoise Pétrovitch, Lou Ros, Valentin van der Meulen and Pascal Vilcollet. This exhibition took place in its first part at Galerie Hengevoss-Dürkop and at Institut Français in its second part.

ENG. Through the meeting of different plastic constructions, this collective exhibition raises questions about the place of mediums in History and also its contemporary dimension. Interrogation found in the words of Giorgio Agamben in his inaugural lesson of the course of Theoretical Philosophy
given in 2005-2006 at the University IUAV of Venice. These pictorial vocabularies sometimes serve the narrative as the critic, the viewer can see it opposing background and form, gait and medium, or still painting and installation. Animated questions that never really had ponses beyond the cycles, which are today the starting point of this collective exhibition.
FRA. « Qu’est ce que cela signifie, être contemporain ? » comme s’interrogeait Giorgio Agamben dans sa leçon inaugurale du cours de Philosophie théorétique donné en 2005-2006 à l’Université IUAV de Venise. C’est une question qui est depuis longtemps débattue en Art. Suivant que l’on soit d’un côté ou de l’autre, on pouvait voir s’opposer fond et forme, démarche et médium, ou encore références et
avant-garde. Cette question animée aux multiples réponses au delà des cycles, est le point de départ choisit par Valentin van der Meulen, commissaire de l’exposition collective qui s’est déroulée à la galerie Hengevoss-Dürkop et à l’institut français de Hambourg.
